Central Higher Education

Central Louisiana's higher education institutions give students the opportunity to achieve their goals of scholarship, personal growth and career preparation. The region features public and private four-year institutions, community and technical colleges and an educational center that hosts courses from multiple universities. Alexandria's central location means students can easily reach Louisiana's other colleges and universities. All schools, public or private, are four hours or less from Central Louisiana.

There's good reason for residents to consider attending a Louisiana college or university — the state features one of the most generous scholarship programs in the country. For qualifying students, the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) offsets most of the cost of tuition at state public colleges, universities, community and technical colleges.

Students who choose to stay in Central Louisiana have access to schools that provide diverse degree programs, a rewarding campus life and the personal attention that delivers a satisfying college experience.
