A Lively Soccer Scene in Alexandria

Alexandria’s youth soccer scene emanates from the Crossroads Soccer Association, a local non-profit affiliated with the Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA), US Youth Soccer (USYS) and the US Adult Soccer Association (USASA). With recreational and competitive programs for more than 1,000 players from Alexandria and nearby communities, Crossroads provides league play for 80 teams and is dedicated to encouraging sportsmanship and positive learning for members ages 3 to 19.

Summer camps and weekly clinics focus on building skills and player confidence, while programs such as “Technical Tuesdays” and “Wittle Wednesdays” offer free training to players as young as 4 years old.

The Johnny Downs Sports Complex is home to game-day fields in Alexandria, and the O’Hearn Mathews Soccer Complex hosts the club’s practice fields. Crossroads also has facilities in Pineville that host an indoor soccer league. Youth players from across Louisiana gather in Alexandria for Crossroads’ events such as the State Cup championships.
