Alexandria: a Host City for Adams Pro-Am Golf Tournament

View All Events

Every year, non-profits in the mid-south partner up with the Adams Pro-Am Golf Tour to host a professional tournament that raises money for charity. The tour allows golfers to practice and prepare for spots on the PGA Tour, and several golfers have gone on to win the PGA Tour, including Bubba Watson. Watson competed on the Adams Pro Tour before joining the PGA in 2005 and winning the Masters in 2012 and 2014. The tournament also invites amateurs to play side-by-side high-caliber golfers.

Alexandria is one of 15 cities across five states to host an annual Adams Pro-Am Golf Tour, held at OakWing Golf Club's 18-hole championship course each March. Admission is free to spectators. Opened in 2002, OakWing is on the former England Air Force Base and features challenging elements and natural features, such as bayous, lakes and mature trees. The course is 7,043 yards.

All Adams Pro-Am Golf Tours are held in conjunction with local partner charities, which receive net proceeds from the events. Collectively, the tour donates more than $250,000 a year to its nonprofit partners. Alexandria's partner charities are the Children's Miracle Network and the CHRISTUS Cabrini Foundation. Tournament proceeds support children’s health programs in the community.
