Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in Alexandria is a pre-kindergarten-through-6th-grade Catholic school where students develop religious faith as they gain skills in subjects from math to watercolor painting. The school accepts students as young as age 3.

In-depth instruction in science and the arts augments academic fundamentals for students starting in 1st grade, when they explore printmaking as well as religion and music. In 2nd grade, students tackle map skills and create 3-D art, and in 3rd grade, students learn the Virginia reel and cursive writing. Other innovative aspects of the curriculum include the study of sacred and popular music in 4th grade, crafts and poetry in 5th grade and Louisiana's coastline in 6th grade. The curriculum also encompasses Spanish, technology skills such as keyboarding and history of the early Roman Catholic Church.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor also promotes healthy living through physical education classes, student participation in the Presidential Fitness Challenge and sports teams, such as football, boys' and girls'; basketball, baseball and softball. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves by entering local and national contests such as the Sonatina Piano Festival, the National Geographic Bee and the Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest.
