BACK TO Private Schools

Sacred Heart School is a pre-kindergarten-through-8th-grade Roman Catholic campus in rural Moreauville. Daily instruction in the tenets of Catholicism is the core component of the school's challenging academic curriculum, and community service and athletic excellence are additional highlights of student life.

Reading and math are the focus of classroom learning in the younger grades, where the curriculum also encompasses science, spelling, social studies and physical education. Catholic doctrine is incorporated into classroom instruction for all children. Formal instruction guides students in the progressively more in-depth study of all subjects in intermediate and older grades where lessons stress self-reliance and individual responsibility. Sacred Heart's use of educational technology across all grade levels includes classroom laptops, document cameras and SMART Boards. The school also has three mobile computer labs, digital cameras and a digital microscope for classroom and student use.

Community service is an important pursuit at Sacred Heart. In 2013-14, students visited residents in area nursing homes; collected coats, toys and food for local families in need; and sent supplies to children in Tsunami-damaged areas of the Philippines. Sports are another standout area for the school. Its football team was Catholic League champion in 2013, when Sacred Heart's boys and girls basketball teams went undefeated. Student bingo, a Christmas pageant and a "Sacred Heart's Got Talent" competition are popular school events.
