With 1,200 miles of scenic shorelines, Toledo Bend Reservoir, beginning approximately 25 miles west of Leesville, represents the largest manmade lake in the southern U.S. Visitors can enjoy a variety of recreation, including:

  • Boating
  • Camping
  • Canoeing
  • Fishing
  • Golfing
  • Hiking
  • Picnicking
  • Sailing
  • Swimming

Fishing, both for sport and leisure, is a popular pastime on the lake, and more than 35 tournaments are held there annually. Bassmaster magazine named Toledo Bend the 10th Best Bass Lake in its top 100 national roundup.

The reservoir houses both North Toledo Bend State Park and South Toledo Bend State Park. South Toledo Bend facilitates a number of activities. In addition to enjoying interactive exhibits in the visitor center, residents can swim along its shores, rent a kayak or canoe, walk a 3,000-foot paved trail or hike the more rugged paths. Boat ramps and piers give fishermen access to the lake’s freshwater fish.
